Children at New Hope

Children are tender shoots.  How can we assure that they grow to their full potential?  How can we keep them safe and make sure they have all they need to be what God intended for them to be? What can we do to come alongside the parents of these so young?   Can we –the Church- the body of Christ help?

These are just some of the questions that we ask ourselves in our ministry to children here at New Hope.  We know that God has given the parent the awesome responsibility to love, train and help their child grow up in God.  Jesus himself grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. (Luke 2:52)  Every child can grow as Jesus did- in knowledge-intellect and understanding, physical growth, spiritual growth and social growth.  To grow fitly the parent is of primary importance in leading, guiding and nurturing the child toward development in these areas.  The church also can be an important part of realizing Gods plan in the child’s life.

OUR MINISTRY GOAL: Partnering with parents to model the teachings of Christ in our lives and help the child grow in:

K nowing  God and Growing in His truth
I nvolvement and interaction in the church-through friendship and fellowship
D eveloping the child’s God given gifts to the fullest
S erving one another in love and humility

Our ministry goals are supported through the following values:

OUR VALUES:

1.     A safe environment for children to grow-emotionally and spiritually

2.     Parent/family involvement, interaction and communication

3.     Using fun and creativity to teach and equip

4.     Nurture the hearts and lives of those that teach and love our children

5.     Our Pastors, leaders and adults are important

6.     Others outside our walls are important and we are to reach out to the world with Christ’s love and compassion.

7.     Growth in Godly character, morals and values in the child

Together—we will encourage children from the youngest to the oldest to press toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ!
